We are studying the European Union. The EU is made up of 28 countries and it's interesting to know something else about them.
In class, we are going to deliver the different countries of the EU and you have to complete a worksheet with the information of your country.
In this link you can find the examples of France, Portugal and Spain:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76664684/archivos%20enlazados/Countries%20of%20the%20European%20Union.doc
Here you have a website to help you to look for this information:
http://ph.infoplease.com/countries.html
http://europa.eu/about-eu/countries/
At the end, you have to make a little presentation of your work and upload it to your blog to share the information with your partners. You can use voicethread, power point or other programs you know.
That’s all! ;p

Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Hello!
We are studying how the world we live in is and the different institutions and organisations that organise our lives. States need to work together to resolve their common problems, and to do it, they sign treaties, conventions and international rights declarations.
The most notable international rights declaration is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I'm deeply concerned about Human rights and I want to share this concern with you:
To know much more about this Declaration, you are going to work and find out information about it. You have to answer the questions below in your notebook with the help of the links below:
1. What is The Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/
2. Where and when was the Declaration proclaimed?
http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/history.shtml
3. What day should the world celebrate Human Rights? Why?
http://www.un.org/en/events/humanrightsday
4. Please, write down one of the Human Rights you especially like and tell why.
http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/index.shtml
5. Who is Secretary-General of the UN? What’s the role of the Secretary-General of the UN?
http://www.un.org/sg/index.asp
To finish the project, make a poster about a person who or an organisation that has been important for Human Rights or has worked to get them in different countries all over the world, like artists, singers, sport personalities, NGOs, etc.
The poster should have the following parts, and you will have to show your work in your blog.
• A short biography of this person or organisation
• What did he/she/the organisation do related to Human Rights?
• Some pictures.
You can use glogster to do it: www.glogster.com.
